Introduction: Whether you are familiar with the term Bigfoot, Yeti or Sasquatch, a Digbeth local has spotted what appears to be Birmingham's answer to the mysterious, hairy creature.

Robert Fellows, 63, has lived and worked on the Digbeth section of the Grand Union Canal for most of his adult life and thus knows the area better than most. Since the beginning of the regeneration of this area of Birmingham, now known as Eastside, Robert has become used to seeing new and unusual things popping up around him. However something he wasn't expecting to capture was the black, silhouetted figure of what appeared to be a not quite human-like creature crouched on top of the Great Barr Street bridge that crosses the canal.

Robert commented, "I hold my hands up, I'm a complete cynic when it comes to these supposed sightings, but I can't deny what I saw that day. Plain as the nose on me face it was" .

It would be quite easy for skeptics to claim that this is simply a normal man, except for the fact that the footage reveals the creature jumping off the bridge, some 40ft above the ground, landing on the footpath below.

This evidence only corroborates other sightings within the city that same year. Animal experts are baffled by the footage and can not come to an agreed conclusion as to what this creature may be. The investigation is said to be ongoing.
