Introduction: Three residents of a housing complex in Highgate, Birmingham were enjoying some late September sunshine when they spotted something chilling at an upstairs window of an abandoned flat. Could this be real evidence of ghosts?

Using their mobile phones the young witnesses were filming themselves playing on the green during the evening of the 25th September. Alex, 24, recalls "We were messing around with a ball when Aaron stopped 'cause he saw a face in the window of a locked room".

The group went immediately to find the housing manager who was able to locate a key for the room. On opening the door they found the flat to be empty, and were told that the room had been locked and out of use for several years.

So, did the residents believe there was a simple explanation? Demi, 18, the resident who captured the footage is not so sure, "We all think it's a ghost because that room's empty, but someone said that a kid hung himself in there once. It was creepy. I'm never going near that room again".

Unsolvedwm are appealing to local residents to let us know if they have had similar experiences.
